NAME /etc/firewall/groups - base directory for rcf(8) groups. DESCRIPTION By default, rcf(8) group text files are kept under the /etc/firewall/groups directory. The --groups command line parameter can be used to specify an alternate directory. Group files can be used in any [accept|deny|ignore] option in place of a hostname and/or IP address. Example: accept-eth1-telnet-clients = 1.2.3.4 ./trusted host1 host2 The group file in this example is trusted. The leading dot-slash ./ specifies that this file is located in the default groups directory. We could also have used a full path (for example /etc/fwtrusted.hosts) instead. The group files contains a list of hostnames, IP addresses, networks, and/or other groups. They can be entered on a single line or multiple lines. The pound (#) character is used to lead comments. Command can be entered on the same line as hostnames, etc. Example: /etc/firewall/groups/trusted # # Sample contents for trusted group. # 5.6.7.8/32 # IP address 5.6.7.8. 9.10.11.0/24 # The 9.10.11.* network. host.domain.com # A fully qualified domain name. FILES /etc/firewall.conf Default location of the rcf(8) configuration file. /etc/firewall/ Default location of the rcf(8) groups, modules, and sbin directories.
